Edwards Kia in Kempsey has updated its Kia showroom in-line with the latest brand evolution and style, which Kia UK Limited started rolling out across the dealer network in 2022.

The new retailer ‘space identity’ is based on the Kia ‘Global Store Concept’, which was first revealed in June 2021.

The new design comprehensively refreshes both the inside and outside of Edwards Kia and is centred on delivering a new Kia customer experience. Two distinct zones welcome visitors inside: a customer zone and a display zone – a soft red (Kia’s highlight colour) and indirect LED lighting feature emitted in a continuous band across the floor, walls and ceiling.

The customer zone features light wooden tones to create a warm and comforting ambiance, complemented by soft furnishings and materials with a woven feel. Juxtaposing the customer zone on the other side of the ‘infinity loop’, the display zone features cool neutral grey tones allowing reflections to recreate an artificial yet expansive space where vehicles stand out.

The new showroom also includes the innovative new Kia ‘Showcase’ interactive car configuration system. The system allows Edwards Kia to show customers an accurate rendition of their car without the need for a physical vehicle to be present. Customers can rotate the car and view it from every angle, open the doors to explore inside and add key accessories. In addition, ‘Showcase’ serves as a video library to help explain some of the more detailed in-vehicle technologies, including Kia’s electrified powertrains.

Adrian Edwards, Managing Director of Edwards Kia, said: “The transformation of our dealership is very dramatic.  The refit was no ordinary lick of paint, and we’ve chosen the full Kia Store design that’s completed by special lighting features to really make the showroom stand out. We urge everyone to come and see our new showroom for themselves. We’re delighted with the transformation that ushers in a new era for Edwards Kia”.

Kia introduced its new corporate brand identity in January 2021, including an impactful new logo and slogan ‘Movement that inspires’. These reflect the new brand purpose and follow the company’s long-term ‘Plan S’ business strategy, first revealed in 2020, that ensures Kia is a leader in electrification, becomes a global sustainable mobility solutions provider and is working towards introducing 15 fully electric models globally by 2027.

The introduction of the new space concept comes at an exciting time for Kia, following recent launches of new versions of its best-selling model families: the all-new Sportage and the all-new Niro, as well as the fully electric EV6 and 7-seater EV9. Each of these new models feature bold designs in-line with Kia’s current vehicle design language, ‘Opposites United’, perfectly complementing the new store design.
